Lino-cut printing is very popular and prints created using this technique have a very distinctive look. ‘Soft cut’ lino is easier to work with than wood or traditional lino and is an excellent introduction to block printing in general.
On this one day workshop you will learn each stage of the process of lino-cut printing from drawing and cutting out your design, to mixing ink and applying it to your lino. You will also be shown how to use my printing press.
We will be using colourful water based inks to print onto a selection of different papers. At the end of the day you will have several original and unique prints to take home and frame.
Bring your own lunch which you can eat in the studio while you work or sit back for a while and reflect on the morning’s progress and I will provide homemade cakes and biscuits and tea coffee, juice etc for those peckish moments.
All equipment and materials provided. No previous experience necessary. Workshop is from 10am ’til 4pm.
