Exploring Pattern and Printing on Textiles

Sunday March 14th 10am to 5pm     £65

On this very creative workshop, we will be printing onto fabric using a range of simple but effective printmaking techniques. You will make and then print with simple hand made stamps and mark-making tools, and also use these to mono-print onto your fabric.

We’ll experiment with colour, pattern, texture and the other elements of design as we create a series of fabric samples (which can be used for sewing projects) before deciding on a final design for a larger textile piece.

There will be discussion about pattern and what makes a successful design, as we consider our work in progress. I will be on hand to demonstrate techniques, discuss ideas and outcomes and offer advice.

The workshop will take place via Zoom at several agreed times throughout the day, following an initial Zoom meeting at 10am. I will demonstrate each technique, as well as showing examples of how these techniques can be used together.

Included in the price for the workshop, is a selection of materials to create some simple stamp prints along with a tote bag and tea towel for you to print onto. These will be posted to you in advance of the workshop.

I will also email a recommended additional materials list, with added links for purchasing and a detailed plan of activities in advance of the workshop date.
