Lino-cut printing is very popular and prints created using this technique have a very distinctive look. ‘Soft cut’ lino is easier to work with than wood or traditional lino and is an excellent introduction to block printing in general.
This one day workshop in my home studio in Sheffield, is suitable for beginners or for those who are feeling a bit ‘rusty’. You will learn each stage of the process of lino-cut printing from drawing and cutting out your design, to mixing ink and applying it to your lino. We will be using colourful water based inks to print onto a selection of different papers, using my table top lino press. At the end of the day you will have several colourful, original and unique prints to take home and frame.
Bring your own lunch which you can eat in the studio while you work or sit back for a while and reflect on the morning’s progress and I will provide homemade cakes and biscuits and tea coffee, juice etc for those peckish moments.
All equipment and materials provided. No previous experience necessary. Workshop is from 10am ’til 4pm.
Once you are booked, on I will send you out further details about the day.
