Y1 Monoprinting Workshops Producing Multicoloured Abstract Prints Using Primary Colours.
Could you describe any aspects of the visit you thought were particularly successful and why?
The children really enjoyed seeing your existing art work and seeing the quick and effective process of printing. The fact they could produce something in a short space of time and that each child produced something unique was fantastic.
Are there any students whom you thought were particularly inspired or responded in unexpected ways? If so can you give me a little more detail about this?
It was inclusive for all students. I know that many of our SEND children enjoyed it and showed interest and focus in the workshop – which they don’t always do during other lessons. I also think the workshop was good for the children who are keen to be perfect and always produce the perfect outcome. The workshop was messy and unpredictable so children saw the importance of the process and how being an artists is about being experimental sometimes.
What would you say was the impact of my visit on the students who I worked with?
I think they have widened their knowledge of experimenting with colour and print skills. I think children have also made a connection with art being a real job/career. Seeing your work and then having a go at producing their own/ similar will be inspiring for them.
Do you have any other comments?
All staff were very positive about the workshops and the children were really enthusiastic. It made a great change the normally lessons and even usual art lessons.
