Thanks to @jamesgreenprintworks and @suzitprints for organising the fantastic @sheffieldprintfair yesterday.

It was really great to be at a fair on my home turf and see so many familiar faces & lovely loyal customers come and say ‘hi’ and have a catch up. Thanks so much especially to everyone who bought work from me. I really do appreciate your support.

So many great printmakers at the event, but
it was so busy from the start that I barely had time to wander about the fair. However it was nice to briefly see and chat to @robins_room, @luizaholub, @maggiemagoodesigns, @evelynpolk, @lucygell, @shirleystevenson175, @studioaprille and most importantly many thanks to @joanna.rucklidge for helping me pack up at the end.

Only one more fair this year but before that, next Sunday I have my ‘Festive card and gift wrap printing’ workshop. If you would like to join me there a just a few spaces left. It’s going to be a lovely afternoon of printing and getting just a bit Christmassy.

Sat 7th Dec it’s the Festive Makers Fair with @rivelinco here in Hillsborough. One of my fave fairs of the year!

Yesterday’s printing.

I impulsively added orange to this length of fabric due to become a lampshade. I wasn’t sure once I’d done it, but looking at it this morning….i love it!

Hopefully I’ll have time to assemble it and bring it along to the @sheffieldprintfair on Saturday.

My new cards arrived today!

I make many of my designs for cards by collaging using recycled printed papers. I have a huge collection of colourful, textured prints that didn’t make the grade & that I keep in boxes my studio. Once I’m happy with a collage its photographed and then I use photoshop to resize the image and add a few details.

The second photo is a timelapse film of me tearing and cutting some of this printed paper to make this particular card. I like to set myself a short timed challenge as a way to concentrate my mind on the task in hand. Otherwise it would never get finished! Not all my collages become cards but this Winter Robin was so cute I couldn’t resist.

I am really delighted to see my Christmas Cactus s

I am really delighted to see my Christmas Cactus starting to bloom through more or less total neglect. It reminds me that life just keeps on happening around me, whether I interfere or not!

The other photos are a snapshot of about a 5th of this month so far. October always seems to be a bit of a whirlwind. This is the pretty bits of course. There’s been plenty of drama and I’m so over having a house and studio in disorder. Don’t even get me started on car probs, teenage angst and all the other usual stuff of life.

It’s all really wonderful and busy. I’m so glad to be alive and I’m so glad my cacti are still alive too!

Thank you so much to the organisers of the @nottm_contemp print fair - a particularly lovely lot and also, many thanks to the lovely people who came and had a chat and bought something from me or who signed up for my newsletter during the print fair.

I now have a few weeks off until the @sheffieldprintfair on November 9th, which I’m looking forward to a lot!!

I say a few weeks off, but that’s not really true. I’m in a primary school tomorrow, running a full day of printing with Y1 students!!

Then on Saturday I’m at the Millennium Gallery @sheffmuseums for my lampshade printing workshop.

I am teaching woodcut printing with @carousel_print_studio the following Saturday and finally I’ll be getting festive with some simple printing to make cards and gift wrap at Worrall community hall @worrallcommunityassociation in November.

There are still one or two spaces on each workshop and you can find out more in the linktree on my bio.

In between the workshops I’ll be adding some work to my website and maybe even having an online sale? I’ve not done that before so it will be interesting to try!

I enjoy the variety in my job!! 😁

I’ve had a quick walk round just as the doors opened @nottm_contemp this morning for the #printfaircontemporary that’s on all day today and tomorrow.

It’s grey and cold outside, so what could be better than visiting us here to see all the colourful printed gorgeousness on display!
