Working with me & FAQ’s

Working with me.

I bring printmaking and art to life in your classroom! As an experienced art educator and former Head of Art, Design & Textiles, I create dynamic, hands-on workshops that inspire creativity.

What Makes a Great Workshop

The most successful workshops happen when we have:
– A spacious room with nearby sink access
– Areas for students to move freely
– Space for artwork to dry between sessions
– Basic art supplies and equipment for your class size

Don’t worry if your space isn’t perfect – I’m flexible and can adapt activities to work within your constraints.

Planning Your Workshop

To ensure the best experience for your students:
– I’ll work with your existing supplies and budget
– Let me know what materials and equipment you have available
– Teachers and support staff are encouraged to participate
– We’ll prepare students for the creative journey ahead

While I specialise in printmaking, I can lead various art activities. For multiple groups in one day, I typically use similar core materials but create different engaging outcomes through varied techniques.

Please note: Schools provide the materials and equipment for workshops, but I’m happy to advise on what’s needed and how to work within your budget.

FAQ’s.

How much is it for a school workshop?

It costs £450 per one day workshop. This includes; an online 30 minute planning meeting with the member of staff organising my visit, usually the art lead in your school. Follow up email(s) to confirm our discussions, outline workshop ideas, links for sourcing appropriate materials where applicable, etc. I send you a final workshop description with a brief outline of day prior to my visit and I also produce visual resources linked to the activities, which I make as part of my planning, to bring to the workshop.

Why does my school have to pay a 20% deposit?

As you can see I have to do a lot of planning and research prior to my visit to your school. The deposit confirms you definitely want me to visit you and are committed to investing in having an artist visit your school. The deposit must be paid prior to having the initial 30 minute online meeting.

What does my school need to give you prior to your workshop?

As well as a 20% deposit, a description of the school day timetable (with any comments on how flexible this is) is important, so I can plan activities around the school day.

It’s important there is a designated member of staff with whom I can liaise throughout the planning and delivery of the workshop.

Information about the class size(s), the classroom or other space where I will be running the workshop.

Any important SEND information regarding children I will be working with and what support is available can be helpful too.

I need to know what materials and equipment your school already has and if you have any budget to buy more materials.

What happens if the workshop cannot go ahead on the planned day due to unforeseen circumstances?

As yet this has never actually happened, but if I am unable to attend the workshop due to illness I will contact your school immediately and organise a new date to visit.

If you have to cancel due to the school being closed (this also has never happened) contact me as soon as possible and we can organise an alternative date for my visit.
