I know this reel is much too long 😂

Back from a trip to London Town this week and I decided to visit the @lubnachowdhary exhibition at the Graves, which I’d been excited to see ever since I knew it was on.

After London Sheffield feels…well…kind of quiet, but I really enjoyed walking like a tourist today in the Sunshine.

To be honest this exhibition was far more me than anything I saw happening in London and with the Tess Jaray opening at the Millennium Gallery next week, I’m feeling a lot of love for my adopted city today.

If you’ve not been to the Graves, you must go. The other exhibitions are ace too!

I needed to do this today.

It’s been a week of walking and stretching in between long stints in the car or at the computer.

Felt I’d lost my mojo. Not my usual colours, but I wanted to look at some natural forms in advance of my workshop coming on Saturday and my begonia is one of my favourite plants.

Block printing onto paper and fabric.

These are from a couple of years ago when I was preparing for my exhibition at @cupolacontemporaryart and they are inspired by the symmetrical pattern in the walled garden in Hillsborough Park.

This Saturday, I am running a linocut printing workshop in the Makers Shed next to the Walled Garden in the park, and I still have a couple of spaces left.

We will be using bright colourful ink and can use the beautiful flowers and foliage in the garden as a starting point, or indeed the architecture and symmetry as I did in these prints.

Sharing some colourful joy to celebrate! 😄

Concentrating on something very detailed like the

Concentrating on something very detailed like the head of a tiny cactus flower is really good for calming my busy mind.

It’s been a really emotional few weeks and I have to say I’m quite drained and it can be a struggle trying to be objective. Doing this has helped. I’m also going in several walks in nature this week and that will also be a real balm.

I can’t believe it’s just over a year since my weeks Artist in residency in a school in Munich.

I’ve just received the most lovely feedback from

I’ve just received the most lovely feedback from a primary school I visited recently.

It was for two classes of Y2 students. One in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Part of my job as a visiting artist/printmaker is to advise and devise activities that are appropriate for the age and stage the children are at. I plan all of this in advance via a Zoom meeting or sometimes in person if the school is nearby.

I’m taking bookings for the Autumn term now if you a teacher, or please pass on my details if you know a school who may be interested in having me visit!

I’ve been having rummage through the drawers on my planchest. I love these drawers but they are HUGE and things get lost in them.

For example this drawing/painting I did some time ago. I love it!

It’s really time this work and some other drawings, paintings and mixed media works went to live in new homes where they will be loved. Rather than hiding here in my planchest.

I took this print ‘Night Journey’ to Joe at @c

I took this print ‘Night Journey’ to Joe at @capstoneframing this week as it’s been selected for an exhibition.

I chatted with Joe about framing options and was confident I wanted the print float mounted in a white wooden frame. This will enable the colours of the work and the textures of the slightly embossed areas and the papers edge to be celebrated.

Framing work can be a challenge and as I often sell my work I framed I am regularly asked about framing.
Personally I think it’s entirely up to the individual. I myself quite like a colourful frame and often use a bit of paint from a match pot or even mixed myself to brighten up an old frame.

Talking to Joe was really useful though and for ‘Night Journey’ which is a one off woodcut, we are going to everything being conservation grade and art glass. The full works!

It’s a more expensive option, but it’s important to frame something of value with care and love which I know Joe will do.

My prints are sold unframed but if you need advice about framing I’m happy to help.
