I had such a lovely time this morning visiting Mal I had such a lovely time this morning visiting Maltby where my @prideofyorkshiretrail lion ‘Joy’ is now standing proud. You can find her at @maltbyleisurecentre and we even managed to coax the manager of the centre to come and have his photo taken with me! See last pic!!

Right next door to the leisure centre is @limetree_nursery. While I was visiting I’d arranged to drop in and meet some of the children there, after seeing how much they liked the lions on social media. I absolutely loved meeting them all and showing them my original drawings for the design and some other bits of work too. They all told me their favourite colours in turn and enjoyed asking me a few other questions, along with nearly all of them telling me how old they were ( mostly 3!) and that they were having birthdays soon or had just had a birthday. They were very cute and the staff at the nursery were really welcoming and enthusiastic too. Special thanks to Alice for taking so many fab photos.

I can’t tell you how much it warms my heart seeing how much everyone is loving the lions! So many thanks to the @sheffchildrenshospitalcharity for making all this happen.

I always find adding some yellow really makes the colours pop!

I’ll be bringing this finished lampshade along with others to PRINTED at @thearthouseuk in July and you can find my lampshades at @spiralsfairtrade in Hebden Bridge too!

While I was there I chatted to three young girls who were playing in the gardens. When I explained how long he was going to be there one of the girls said ‘ I don’t want him to go!’

It was quite something to see all the blues and greens in the patterns on him, against the yellow of the stone in the gardens and the surrounding buildings. Very striking!

I’m off to see ‘Joy’ in Maltby on Tuesday and visit the nursery next door to the leisure centre where she is displayed.

This week the wonderful lions of the @prideofyorks This week the wonderful lions of the @prideofyorkshiretrail have been getting lots of attention and I’ve enjoyed seeing so many posts from folk enjoying finding them on the trail.

This weekend I’m going to visit my lion ‘Buzz’, who is proudly standing in St John’s Gardens in Cudworth, Barnsley and next week, I’m visiting ‘Joy’ who is in Maltby outside the leisure centre. While I’m there I’ll be dropping in to see the children of @limetree_nursery, as they are right next door and have already been over to say hello to ‘Joy’, and @liah.edwardes’s lion ‘Pride of the Bark’. I can’t wait to visit!

Anyway, I’ve been planning a school workshop this afternoon, making simple, colourful monoprints with really easy accessible materials. If you go to the last slide you’ll see a vid of my hands (not my face) printing with some pink paint and a bit of cardboard. Some good ASMR moments!

My recent colourful abstract prints ( you can see a few behind me) look really nice in them. I’ll share more images soon. Just couldn’t resist taking these photos. 😁

I still have a couple of spaces on my workshops in June. Link on here and in my bio.

I’ve been printing with colours I’m seeing in my garden at the moment. Lots of green obviously, purples, blues, pinks and yellows.

I absolutely love these colour combinations. I think I love all colours, I don’t really have a favourite, but I especially love particular colour combo’s such as green, pink and yellow…maybe with a dash of red thrown in…😉

What other fab colour combinations can you suggest. Can you have too many colours together? Is 5 too many? 😁
