My Instagram feed seems to be nothing but reels of My Instagram feed seems to be nothing but reels of folk telling me about themselves or about what I apparently need in my life.

Anyway, I’ve been planning a school workshop this afternoon, making simple, colourful monoprints with really easy accessible materials. If you go to the last slide you’ll see a vid of my hands (not my face) printing with some pink paint and a bit of cardboard. Some good ASMR moments!

My recent colourful abstract prints ( you can see a few behind me) look really nice in them. I’ll share more images soon. Just couldn’t resist taking these photos. 😁

I still have a couple of spaces on my workshops in June. Link on here and in my bio.

I’ve been printing with colours I’m seeing in my garden at the moment. Lots of green obviously, purples, blues, pinks and yellows.

I absolutely love these colour combinations. I think I love all colours, I don’t really have a favourite, but I especially love particular colour combo’s such as green, pink and yellow…maybe with a dash of red thrown in…😉

What other fab colour combinations can you suggest. Can you have too many colours together? Is 5 too many? 😁
So what do you think? Colourful or black frames? So what do you think? Colourful or black frames?

Sprinkled with a little bit of Sam Groom magic too of course! ✨

‘Make it up as we go along’ as it says in the song ‘Make it up as we go along’ as it says in the song. Sounds about right to me.

After having a clean out of my plan chest, I came upon this half finished textile work made up of sections of hand printed fabric which I’d arranged and sewn together and then undecided on what to do next, left in the drawer.

So, I got out a load of other swatches of printed fabric had a bit of a play with different arrangements and just continued where I’d left off.

It’s keeping my mind occupied while I think of my girl sitting two exams today, while she’s feeling quite poorly.

I’m very keen to begin more woodcuts soon. I love those first stages when there are so many possibilities!
A recent enquiry about block printing on old cloth A recent enquiry about block printing on old clothes, inspired me to print some designs onto an old blue top that I’d managed to get a stain on, right in the front and centre of it. I’m really pleased with the results. I kept the colours very monochromatic as I felt that would work best with the blue. But I have a white top I’m tempted to try something a bit brighter on next!!

The two techniques I’m using here are the exact ones I’m sharing in my next workshop here in Sheffield. Although we’ll be designing prints for bags and tea towels there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t bring an old item of clothing along as well (cotton or linen would be best) to print onto.
