Exchange – woodcut print

Exchange is a multi layered abstract woodcut print with stamp printed additional details onto 86gsm Awagami Masa paper 1/1 (one of one). Made up of pinks, blues, green, a creamy yellow and red.

The process of printing my abstract woodcut prints involves me inking up the woodblock with each individual colour and using paper stencils to select areas to print and areas where the ink wil not print onto the paper. Each shape represents a separate run through the press although I occasionally add a stamp printed detail just to finish off the piece.

Areas of the paper are slightly embossed where the woodcut has pressed into the paper when going through the press.

It is a very colourful and bright print which I have signed, editioned and titled underneath the print.

Exchange is suppled with a simple A4 sized white mount. The image of my hand holding it gives you a sense of the scale of the print and mount together.

Materials: water based block printing ink and Awagami Masa paper 86gsm

Print size – 145mm x 195mm approx (portrait position)

Paper size – 200mm x 265mm approx

Postage to the UK is included in the price. Sorry I don’t usually post overseas.

Supplied mounted with A4 sized mount and backed with card. It is stamped and signed on the back.
