Recent (and not so recent) work around the theme of jugs and vessels. I’ve also included a couple of photos at the end of the reel of my print and collage work accumulating in my front room.

I’m almost ready to begin packing it all up, ready for setting up at Meanwhile Space just off the Moor for @openupsheffield next weekend.

I’m a big fan of pink.

At the moment I’m leaning more towards softer and gentle pinks. Mixed with greys, creams and peachy shades. Not sure why, but they are making me happy.

I’ll bring my various pink works to Meanwhile Space for @openupsheffield, along with my blue and green works (and all the other colours too!)

Today I am getting on with printing a couple more

Today I am getting on with printing a couple more lengths of fabric to make into lampshades.

I’ll bring these to Meanwhile Space in the Moor here in Sheffield for @openupsheffield in a couple of weeks.

I have made a collage of a beautiful local buildin

I have made a collage of a beautiful local building….and it’s framed and on display. Whoop!

You can now see it in its new home at the @thedepotbakery in Hillsborough Park.

Thanks so much to Frankie at the Depot Bakery for her help with arranging a time for me to hang the collage, thanks to the Depot team for their thoughts on positioning and of course many thanks to @notatennisplayer for his help with filming this.

You know that feeling when you need to step back t

You know that feeling when you need to step back to see where you are going with your work?

I’ve brought a few things downstairs to the front room and with the helpful donation of bookshelves from a neighbour, I’m starting to arrange what I have, and think about what work I’d like to include in my exhibition at Meanwhile Space for @openupsheffield in a few weeks.

There is no question I have produced a lot of work! I have so many ideas….I struggle (is it a struggle?) to stick with one thing, but I feel strongly there are threads running through it all.

Most definitely there is the love of colour, texture, pattern and shapes that are bold, asymmetric and organic whether working with abstraction or not. I produce my work through an instinctive process (no planning here!😁) and a lot of playing with layers of colour and shapes & experimenting with composition.

I’m definitely on an eternal search for calm and order and stillness as I try to make sense out of this somewhat noisy and chaotic world.

I’ll be sharing the exhibition space with four other Sheffield artists, @evajuusola, @artistceliabennett, @denise.wrightson.artist and @anna_perotti. I’m looking forward to seeing how everything looks together in the exhibition space.
