Oxbow

‘Oxbow’ is a one-off textile wall hanging inspired by going for walks in nature. It has been hand printed in ultramarine blue, turquoise and emerald greens using a range of printing techniques. These include woodcut printing, stamp printing, gelli-printing and screen printing onto patchworked sections of fabric, including an ‘end of roll’ length of linen. Also in the various different fabric sections throughout the design are some fragments of my old teal coloured curtains! I have appliquéd hand printed fabrics onto the work and further embellished the piece with embroidery and quilting using different thicknesses of thread. The whole piece is edged with a linen border and I have embroidered my initials on the right hand side and stamp printed my logo onto the back too.

The art work is designed to be hung on the wall with a hidden length of dowel that is supplied with the artwork. With the dowel as a hanging system the artwork hangs against the wall with a slightly uneven, soft edge and surface. Please note that while I have taken every care to photograph the work accurately, every monitor is different and colours can look different to the actual piece.

The wall hanging will be sent to you carefully wrapped in acid free tissue and protective packaging and sent recorded delivery.

This textile piece cannot be washed but should be gently dusted or cleaned with a soft brush.
