Terrain

‘Terrain’ is a one-off abstract textile wall hanging from an original larger textile work that I turned into two smaller pieces. The other is ‘Oxbow’. Both works are inspired by going for walks in nature.

‘Terrain’ has been hand printed in ultramarine blue, turquoise and emerald greens using a range of printing techniques. These include woodcut printing, stamp printing, gelli-printing and screen printing onto various sections of fabric, including an ‘end of roll’ length of linen. There are some small pieces of my old teal coloured curtains included! I have appliquéd these hand printed fabrics onto the work and further embellished the piece with embroidery using different thicknesses of thread. I have embroidered my initials on the right hand side and stamp printed my logo onto the back too.

‘Terrain’ is designed to be hung on the wall using a flat length of wood with two holes at each end. The wood slides through a sleeve at the top of the piece. The wood is supplied with the artwork and cit an have a length of cord added to hang the work, or you may prefer to hang the wooden strip from the wall using small nails.

Please note that while I have taken every care to photograph the work accurately, every monitor is different and colours can look different to the actual piece.

The wall hanging will be sent to you carefully wrapped in acid free tissue and protective packaging and sent recorded delivery.

This textile piece cannot be washed but should be gently dusted or cleaned with a soft brush.
