Saturday 7th November 2026. 10am – 4pm
Create your own unique and original hand printed lampshade.
On this workshop which is open to all levels of experience, you will use simple printmaking techniques to hand-print a beautiful and unique textile design, which you will then use to make your lampshade.
I will guide you through some simple printmaking techniques, including making simple stamps with which to print onto your fabric. You will be printing with colourful fabric printing inks and I’ll show you how to play with colour, shape and composition in your design as well as demonstrating a few techniques to create interesting textures.
Once your fabric is ready, I’ll guide you through the process of creating your unique and original 25 cm drum lampshade that you can take home.
This workshop is for complete beginners or for those with previous printmaking experience.
Included in the cost of the workshop are all materials and equipment for printing and for making your lampshade.
Please bring your own lunch and I will provide homemade cakes and biscuits and tea coffee, juice, etc throughout the day for those peckish moments.
Fabric ink doesn’t wash out of fabric, so please be mindful of this and wear old clothes or bring an apron.
Workshop is from 10am ’til 4pm.
