Many of you know I love making lampshades - see second image 😁

My lampshades are woodcut printed and they are all one-off pieces. I’m going to be printing some more of these over the next few weeks and I’ll be showing some of them as part of @openupsheffield in early May.

I’m also running a print (and make) your own lampshade workshop on June 8th here in Sheffield.

I still have some spaces available if you’d like to join me for this. We will be using two simple & fun printing techniques onto fabric using water based fabric printing inks and if you look through the photos you can see just a small selection of the lampshades others have created. They are all so different and so gorgeous!

I think I’ve found a new passion!

Been building these vessels over the past two days. As well as some jugs. I can’t stop!

I’ve had an interest in vertical forms, totem and vessel like forms for ages. I am really enjoying exploring these now in clay. I’m looking forward to the glazing stage so much! Colour! 🌈
I’m collaborating with Krishna @walkleypottery @artwithkrishna who is a colour glaze wizz and we are going to see where our explorations take us!

I hope 🤞to have some of my new clay work ready for @openupsheffield in a couple of months. I’m really looking forward to this as well. It’s all exciting!

Good morning on this lovely sunny day!

Just to let you know I’m having a sale of some original wood cut prints, all one-off until next Wednesday at midnight.

Each print is inspired by nature and imagery of florals and foliage and I created each print exploring layering of colours, shapes and textures. They were lots of fun to print and as always the theme of play and ‘seeing what happens’ was very much a part of the process.

Each work is for sale unframed, but I’ve added a black frame around each here to give you an idea of how they could look framed.

I’m loving this sunshine!

I’m going to be dropping a selection of my greeting cards in local shops today, but if you aren’t local you can buy my cards in sets of 4 or 10 online.

You can customise any set to include which ever cards you like. Just let me know in the order notes.

I’ve received such lovely feedback from schools

I’ve received such lovely feedback from schools recently that I wanted to share it here.

I have over 12 years experience working in schools as a teacher of Art, Design and Textiles and I have been running workshops in schools as a visiting artist for the past 10 years…so 22 years experience in total I guess!

I love running workshops for schools! Developing art activities around a theme is one of my favourite things to do.

Schools seem to really appreciate me too, looking at all the fantastic feedback. I’m so delighted and glad to be able to help.

I had a lovely time at the Print Festival @sunnyba

I had a lovely time at the Print Festival @sunnybankmills yesterday! Thanks to @artfarm123 Angela for the hilarious photo of me.

It was a gorgeous day and what a beautiful setting for a print fair. I met some really lovely people, I do love the sort of folk you get at print fairs!!
Thanks so much to the folk who came to say hello and thanks if you signed up to my mailing list. Anyone who bought something from me an especially big thank you! It means such a lot you have no idea.
It was also very nice to catch up with old printmaker friends and make new ones too. Thanks to the organisers and to the kind and patience chaps in the pink hi-vis jackets who helped me pack my car at the end of the day. I was pooped!

Anyway, I really hope to return to #sunnybankmills before too long. It’s fab!

Now I am having a Spring print sale of all my fabulous florals ( and a few other prints too) over the next week. Some works are already on sale ( I did a few over breakfast) and I’ll be adding more tomorrow.
